What is Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR)

NBR, also known as nitrile rubber, Buna-N, NBR Rubber, or perbunan, is a synthetic rubber copolymer widely used in various industrial applications due to its excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and other chemicals. Two big chemical companies, BASF and Bayer, made it first in 1931. It took a few years to sell it to everyone, which started in 1935. Nitrile rubber has long been a key choice in the rubber materials field.

Chemically speaking, nitrile rubber is a synthetic rubber copolymer. NBR is made by mixing two chemicals: acrylonitrile and butadiene.
